The African Atlantic Pipeline project, connecting Nigeria to Morocco, offers a unique opportunity for regional integration, said the Minister of Economy and Finance, Nadia Fettah.

“This project, which is the result of the visionary outlook of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, for a unified and prosperous Africa, will allow for a better allocation of African natural resources by promoting access to energy in the countries it traverses,” said Ms. Fettah in an interview with MAP, on the sidelines of the Annual Meetings of the African Development Bank (AfDB) taking place until May 30 in Abidjan.

In the same vein, the Royal Initiative aimed at facilitating access for Sahel countries to the Atlantic Ocean will enable the landlocked countries to be connected to the Atlantic coast of the continent, which is rich in enormous economic potential, Ms. Fettah noted.

According to the minister, the construction of a regional market for processed raw materials should be encouraged, relying, in particular, on the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA), but also on other major pan-African projects that stimulate co-development and common progress.
