With the commissioning of the first two lines, each with an annual capacity of 500,000 tons, OCP Nutricrops’ production of TSP has now surpassed 5 million tons, as stated in a press release.

TSP, a concentrated phosphate fertilizer, contains over 90% of phosphorus that is immediately available to plants, making it particularly suitable for deficient soils and reasonable fertilization strategies based on the principles of the 4Rs (right source, right rate, right time, right place), the statement explained.

Driven by the Manufacturing Strategic Business Unit in collaboration with OCP Nutricrops, OFAS, and JESA, the TSP Hub transforms existing capacities and lays the groundwork for more precise fertilizer production, tailored to current agronomic requirements.

It relies on a flexible industrial process that allows for precise integration of nutrients and additives, meeting farmers’ specific needs for their soils and crops. This technology offers industrial agility and speed in producing new customized formulas.

Combining increased capacity with operational flexibility, this strategic program serves as a key lever in OCP Nutricrops’ industrial transformation, addressing the challenges of modern, demanding, and customized agriculture by providing fertilizer production that meets the diverse and growing needs of the market.

To reach a new level, an ambitious program for adapting nitrogenous fertilizer production units is currently underway, the same source noted, emphasizing that this key project aims to integrate new equipment and modify existing facilities to also enable the production of TSP.

This enhancement will allow OCP Nutricrops to achieve an installed annual capacity of over 7 million tons of TSP by the end of 2025, optimizing its industrial assets to effectively meet the growing demand for phosphate fertilizers.

“The TSP Hub represents a significant milestone in our phosphate fertilizer production strategy. It strengthens our ability to provide high-value agronomic fertilizers, designed to meet the requirements of soils and farmers worldwide, while enhancing our precision, performance, and industrial capacity,” said Youssef El Bari, CEO of OCP Nutricrops.

Meanwhile, Ahmed Mahrou, Managing Director of the Manufacturing Strategic Business Unit, stated that “the TSP Hub embodies an industrial transformation committed by the Manufacturing SBU to meet the challenges of fertilizer customization in a context of diversified agronomic needs.”

“It marks the emergence of an ambidextrous, agile, and customer-centric industrial model, where production tools become a strategic lever. With its new organization, the Manufacturing SBU is developing an increasing number of customized products, tailored to increasingly differentiated needs,” Mr. Mahrou noted.

He added that through this dynamic, the Manufacturing SBU affirms its commitment to placing industrial performance, in terms of flexibility, capacity, and adaptability, at the service of creating sustainable value.

The launch of the TSP Hub rests on strengthened governance, with the establishment of a dedicated cross-structure team for the start-up, as well as optimized coordination of over 1,200 stakeholders on-site, across various trades.

Environmentally, the TSP Hub relies entirely on the use of non-conventional water, as part of the overall strategy of the OCP Group.

OCP Nutricrops is a subsidiary of the OCP Group dedicated to developing soil and plant nutrition solutions to address global challenges of food production and sustainability.

The Manufacturing Strategic Business Unit is responsible for ensuring Operational and Exploratory activities on the OCP Group’s processing platforms in Jorf Lasfar and Safi. It aims to position OCP as a best-in-class player in the industry, relying on operational excellence at all levels.
