The real estate division of the ALH Holding group organized a conference-debate on July 3 in Rabat dedicated to sustainable housing, bringing together architects, urban planners, and real estate developers around the theme: **”Challenges and Perspectives of Sustainable Housing in Morocco: Rabat, a Model City?”** The objective was to assess the current practices and identify the technical, regulatory, and financial levers to accelerate the ecological transition in the sector.

    ### An Integrated Vision of Sustainability
For El Mehdi Rahouti, General Director of ALH Real Estate, sustainability is becoming a **central axis in project design**: “Our programs are developed according to demanding standards, with HQE or EDGE certifications underway.” He specifically mentions the “Les Cyprès” project, a high-end villa complex in Rabat-El Menzeh, designed according to international sustainability standards. “This project reflects our desire to reconcile environmental performance, user comfort, and accessibility.”

    ### Rethinking Urban Planning on a Human Scale
Architect Mamoun Mechiche Alami called for moving beyond a purely technical approach to **integrate local lifestyles** into territorial design: “Sustainable urban planning can only be inclusive and collaborative. We must stop thinking of cities solely in terms of infrastructure.” He advocates for active citizen involvement and planning that considers usage scales.

    ### Strengthening Incentive Mechanisms
On the regulatory side, Zakaria Sadik, General Director of the Alto Eko consulting firm, believes that existing support mechanisms lack effectiveness. “Without strong institutional support and without expanding these aids to all regions and all types of buildings, their impact will remain limited. The success of the transition relies on a **close collaboration between public and private actors**.”

Through this meeting, ALH Real Estate confirms its commitment to **actively contribute to the evolution of the Moroccan real estate sector towards more responsible practices**, by fostering dialogue among various stakeholders and encouraging the emergence of solutions adapted to the local context.
