The Doukkala Association is preparing to take a new step in its commitment to the environment and sustainable development, with the upcoming launch of a Regional Observatory for the Environment and Sustainable Development. This project, unprecedented in the region, aims to become a center for monitoring, participatory research, and local innovation, mobilizing researchers, associative actors, and institutions around shared diagnostics and solutions rooted in the territory.

    A strengthened territorial dynamic

The initiative is part of a global transformation approach, at the intersection of ecological, social, and cultural issues. In this spirit, an Intercultural Festival of Doukkala will also be created, blending local heritage and contemporary artistic expressions. This event aims to become a space for dialogue and identity enhancement, with strong involvement from the youth of the region.

    International cooperation and citizen mobilization

On the international front, the Association will strengthen its cooperation with a Polish foundation starting in 2025 through a Euro-Maghreb Youth Forum for Climate, scheduled to take place in El Jadida. This new exchange framework will bring together young researchers, activists, and entrepreneurs around issues of transition and climate justice.

In parallel, a regional awareness campaign on the circular economy will be deployed in schools and training centers, with the support of local authorities. The goal is to embed a culture of sustainability from a young age, in line with the ambitions of Morocco’s new development model.

With this bouquet of initiatives, the Doukkala Association aims to make the region a model of sustainable territorial development, reconciling local roots, social innovation, and international openness.
