In an ambitious effort to enhance access to culture and support education, the Banque Populaire Foundation (FBP) has equipped the Tariq Ben Ziad school, located in Laâyoune, with twelve fully stocked school libraries containing books suitable for different student levels. This initiative is fully aligned with the 2022-2026 roadmap and is part of the “Pioneering Schools” program, an innovative scheme aimed at placing reading at the heart of Moroccan school life.

An official ceremony was held at the institution, marking this key moment in the presence of Ms. Houda Laaraj, Secretary General of the Banque Populaire Foundation, Mr. Abdenaceur Bougtib, Chairman of the Management Board of Banque Populaire de Laâyoune, and Mr. Hsini Mohamed, Head of the Educational Affairs Division of Laâyoune-Sakia El Hamra.

Since its creation in 1984, the Banque Populaire Foundation has established itself as a pioneering institution in the Moroccan landscape of banking foundations, embodying early social responsibility. Initially focused on education and culture, the foundation has expanded its areas of action, with nearly forty years of experience in supporting local and national strategies that converge towards the sustainable development of the country.

The school library project, by providing each classroom with accessible resources, aims to create an environment conducive to fostering a love for reading. Beyond the material equipment, a personalized support program is being implemented to encourage students to integrate reading into their daily school life.

Education remains a central focus of the Banque Populaire Foundation’s commitment, which carries out concrete, sustainable, and targeted actions to promote not only academic success but also the personal development of younger generations.
