The National Office of Electricity and Drinking Water (ONEE) has just strengthened the national electricity transmission network and has commissioned two 400 kV power lines connecting the El Ouali Substation in the Fès region and the future Midelt Solar Power Plant.

With a total length of 2×136 km, these strategic infrastructures, which required funding exceeding 550 million dirhams, are part of ONEE’s major investments aimed at reinforcing the national electricity transmission network, the Office stated in a press release.

They aim to ensure the evacuation of the energy that will be produced by the future Midelt Solar Power Plant and to support the massive integration of renewable energies into the national energy mix, while guaranteeing sustainable and efficient electricity transmission, it was specified.

This achievement represents a major step in the improvement and expansion of High Voltage networks, thus supporting Morocco’s ambitious energy transition, and demonstrates ONEE’s ongoing commitment to providing a reliable and sustainable public electricity service, in line with the Kingdom’s strategic energy and environmental objectives.
