**Casablanca, Morocco – January 10, 2025 –** TotalEnergies Renewables Distributed Generation, a major player in B2B solar solutions, has successfully installed photovoltaic systems at five Safran sites in Morocco, generating 2400 MWh of renewable energy annually.
Safran, a global leader in the aerospace, defense, and space sectors, reaffirms its commitment to reducing its environmental footprint and enhancing its operational efficiency. The solarization of the Matis Aerospace sites (a joint venture between Safran Electrical & Power and Boeing), Safran Aircraft Engines Services Morocco, Safran Electronics & Defense, Safran Engineering Services Morocco, and Safran Aerosystems Morocco is part of the Group’s strategy to adopt renewable energies and limit its carbon footprint.
This solar project, implemented by TotalEnergies Renewables Distributed Generation, contributes to Safran’s initiatives to reduce its energy costs and improve its environmental performance. A total of 2600 solar panels have been installed, covering 30% of the annual electricity consumption of these sites and saving approximately 1700 tons of CO₂ per year. TotalEnergies handled the design, installation, and commissioning of the system, ensuring optimal reliability and energy efficiency in the long term.
“This project with Safran illustrates our commitment to providing reliable and sustainable energy solutions to businesses in Morocco. It is important for us to continue supporting our clients by offering them solar solutions,” said **Hamady SY, General Manager of TotalEnergies Renewables Distributed Generation Middle East & Africa**.
“We are proud to collaborate with TotalEnergies on this fully operational photovoltaic panel project. This initiative reinforces our commitment to improving the energy efficiency of our sites in Morocco, in line with our overall strategy to reduce our carbon footprint,” added **Nathalie Stubler, Group Director of Sustainable Development at Safran**.
This project represents a new step in TotalEnergies Renewables Distributed Generation’s commitment to providing solar solutions to B2B clients in the Middle East and Africa.
