The National Agency for Water and Forests (ANEF) published its Forest Fire Risk Bulletin (BRIF) on Monday, covering the period from July 15 to 18, based on scientific prediction models and analysis of data related to the nature of forests, their combustibility and flammability, as well as topoclimatic parameters.

According to this bulletin, an extreme fire risk is identified in the provinces of Chefchaouen, Taounate, and Taza, while a high risk is noted in the provinces of Agadir-Ida-Ou-Tanane, Al Hoceima, Béni Mellal, Essaouira, Fahs-Anjra, Khénifra, Larache, M’diq-Fnideq, Ouezzane, Tanger-Assilah, and Tétouan.

Furthermore, a medium risk concerns the provinces of Berkane, Driouch, Ifrane, Kénitra, Khémisset, Nador, Rabat, Salé, Sidi Slimane, Skhirate-Témara, and Taourirt, the ANEF specifies in its bulletin.

To this end, the Agency calls on all forest dwellers, summer visitors, and professionals operating in forest areas to exercise the utmost vigilance, taking all necessary precautions to prevent fire outbreaks.

The ANEF also invites citizens to quickly alert local authorities in case of observing smoke or suspicious behavior near forested areas.
