The Moroccan Agency for Sustainable Energy (MASEN) has implemented **more than 236 local development projects**, mobilizing an amount of **over 250 million dirhams (MDH)**, announced the Minister of Energy Transition and Sustainable Development, Leila Benali.
### **Projects with a Strong Social Impact**
During an intervention at the House of Representatives on the role of **renewable energies in the development of precarious areas**, the minister specified that these initiatives have benefited **more than 130,000 people**. Among the actions taken:
– **13 medical caravans** organized, providing health services in public hospitals for **27,000 beneficiaries**.
– **9 projects** dedicated to **improving access to drinking water** in Ouarzazate.
– **Electrification of villages in Al Haouz** through **solar photovoltaic mini-grids** coupled with storage batteries.
### **A Lever for the Local Economy and Energy Infrastructure**
The minister also highlighted the injection of **5 GW of renewable energies** into the national electrical grid. These advances are based on legislative reforms and programs ensuring their viability, while **opening up remote areas**.
At the same time, these initiatives have enabled the **qualification of the local workforce** and the **creation of thousands of jobs**, thereby strengthening the economic impact of MASEN’s projects in the affected regions.
