Kohler Energy has officially been renamed **Rehlko (pronounced REL-co)**, marking a major milestone in the company’s history of over 100 years as a generator of innovative and resilient energy solutions that ensure independence, agility, and security for critical infrastructures, facilities, and residences.
Rehlko will continue to operate as an independent company. The company became an autonomous entity in May 2024, when Platinum Equity completed a transaction with Kohler Company to establish Kohler Energy, the autonomous business at that time. Platinum Equity is the majority owner of Rehlko, with Kohler Company remaining an investment partner.
Sirmel, a distributor of a wide range of electrical products and solutions, information technology, and telecommunications with associated services, has been the **official distributor of Rehlko in Morocco** since 2016 and is responsible for marketing the entire range as well as after-sales service.
“We are embarking on our future as an independent company under the new Rehlko brand and celebrating our heritage and commitment to tackling the most complex energy challenges, as well as the values that guide everything we do and stand for,” said Brian Melka, CEO of Rehlko. “The new name of our company uses the six letters of Kohler and reflects the reliability, determination, reinvention, and resilience that have been, and will remain, the characteristics of this organization to meet the ever-evolving distributed energy needs of the market.”
Rehlko will continue to ensure control, resilience, and innovation, through a comprehensive range of energy solutions, including energy generation, energy storage, and renewable energy technologies, among other services offered.
Rehlko operates a broad portfolio of leading businesses, including Power Systems, Engines, Uninterruptible Power, Home Energy, Clarke Energy, Curtis Instruments, and Heila Technologies. Kohler Power Systems and Kohler Engines will lead the brand transition of the corporate portfolio by officially becoming the Rehlko brand by the end of 2024.
“This rebranding is much more than just a clever name change. The letters that make up the name Rehlko reflect our rich heritage of over 100 years under the Kohler brand and represent a bold advancement in our journey to continue building and powering a sustainable energy future,” said Francis Perrin, brand and sustainability director at Rehlko. “Our new brand positions our company at the forefront of energy resilience innovation and technology and demonstrates our proven ability to provide our customers with the reliability and energy control they demand and require. The Rehlko brand is more focused and goal-oriented than ever.”
Based in Wisconsin, Rehlko will be present at over 100 sites across the Americas, Asia, Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.
