The Ministry of Agriculture aims to train 140,000 qualified graduates by 2030 as part of the implementation of the “Green Generation” strategy, Minister of Agriculture, Maritime Fisheries, Rural Development, and Water and Forests Ahmed El Bouari stated on Wednesday in Kenitra.
To date, this strategy has resulted in the training of 50,000 graduates in various specialties covering multiple agricultural and agri-food professions, with a professional integration rate ranging between 70% and 85%, he specified during the closing of the 9th Forum for Trainees of Agricultural Vocational Training, held at the Royal Institute of Specialized Technicians in Livestock.
The minister added that the agricultural vocational training system is a crucial lever for strengthening and developing human capital, noting that this system encompasses 12 regional centers, gathering 57 institutes across the Kingdom, facilitating training offers that are close to rural areas and tailored to regional specificities and the needs of production chains.
In this regard, he emphasized that the agricultural sector is experiencing accelerated development with a direct impact on the professions and skills needed, stating that this growth requires quality vocational training that meets labor market demands. He highlighted the imperative of expanding dual training, increasing the use of digital technologies, and updating branches and cycles.
On another note, the minister confirmed that training in livestock and animal production, as part of the implementation of the Royal High Guidelines related to the national herd restoration program, requires qualified human resources capable of contributing to the success of this initiative, estimating that the Royal Institute of Specialized Technicians in Livestock in Fouarat (Kenitra) is a national reference center in this field.
In this context, he explained that this institution trains technicians specialized in cattle, poultry, and animal health, through a wide range of programs aimed at renewing practices, increasing productivity, improving quality and health safety, as well as enhancing the competitiveness of production chains and food security.
On this occasion, an agreement was signed between the Digital Agriculture and Forestry Hub, the Drought Observatory, the Directorate of Education, Training, and Research under the ministry, the Royal Institute of Specialized Technicians in Livestock in Fouarat, and the Hassan II Agronomic and Veterinary Institute.
This agreement, signed as part of the Morocco Digital Farms Network, aims to establish a strategic partnership to promote the experimentation, showcasing, and dissemination of digital agricultural technologies at the Fouarat Institute under real conditions, to enhance practical training and support the transition towards intelligent and sustainable agriculture.
The ceremony was also marked by the presentation of awards to trainees from agricultural vocational training institutes, winners of the National Innovation in Agriculture Competition, as well as to winners of sports and cultural competitions.
More than 260 trainees from 57 agricultural vocational training institutes participated in the 2025 edition of the Forum, which included various scientific, sports, and cultural activities.
