In Casablanca-Settat, a new initiative is at the heart of territorial innovation. The City of Trades and Skills of Casablanca-Settat (CMC-CS) is partnering with the organization OTED (Territorial Empowerment and Development) to create the Territorial Innovation Lab of Nouaceur (NOTIL). This lab aims to drive a transformation of local development by mobilizing collective intelligence in the face of economic, social, and environmental challenges.
Beyond being a simple space for reflection, NOTIL focuses on co-construction and the concrete engagement of various actors: businesses, local authorities, cooperatives, associations, as well as trainees and trainers. Everyone collaborates to design, test, and then evaluate solutions tailored to the realities of the territory.
The lab is based on four fundamental pillars: collective intelligence, to bring together a wide range of actors around local issues; co-construction, which ensures the active involvement of stakeholders; experimentation, to validate initiatives before their generalization; and finally, sustainability, with a desire for lasting social impact.
The expected benefits of NOTIL are numerous. Businesses can stimulate their innovation and competitiveness, while local authorities strengthen their participatory governance. Furthermore, trainees at CMC-CS benefit from practical training by getting involved in high-value projects. As for the residents, they see their living environment improved through co-created solutions tailored to their specific needs.
To realize this dynamic, CMC-CS and OTED are calling on all active forces in the territory: experts, businesses, and engaged citizens are invited to actively participate through collaborative workshops. The goal is to feed a virtuous circle of co-construction and territorial innovation.
Supported by a modern vision of training and development, CMC-CS plays a key role in this transformation. With modern infrastructure, it trains over 4,800 trainees each year in 111 vocational fields. It also houses an incubator, a FabLab, a digital factory, a career guidance center, and co-working spaces.
Created by a collective of volunteer experts, OTED acts as a true third place for territorial innovation. By providing tools, platforms, and expertise, it facilitates the emergence of sustainable and inclusive solutions, perfectly adapted to the needs of the territories.
