Morocco, one of the most advanced countries in the region regarding energy transition, is establishing itself as a “strategic interlocutor” for the European industry, stated Alessandra Astolfi, the international exhibitions director responsible for the Green & Technology division of the Italian Exhibition Group (IEG).
“In recent years, the Kingdom has adopted ambitious policies by developing solid industrial skills in renewable energies and ensuring the diversification of its energy mix,” emphasized Ms. Astolfi in an interview with MAP, on the sidelines of the 4th edition of the “KEY – Energy Transition Expo,” organized by IEG at the exhibition center in Rimini, Italy.
In this regard, she noted that Morocco has become a reference in the region and in Africa for accelerating energy transition, thanks to significant investments and very dynamic international cooperation.
Regarding Africa, Ms. Astolfi assessed that the continent is playing an increasingly important role in global energy transition due to its enormous potential in natural resources, particularly in solar energy, and through national strategies for developing hydrogen.
Speaking about the fourth edition of Key Energy (March 4-6), the director at IEG expressed her satisfaction with the “real success” achieved, highlighting that this energy event has “consolidated its international dimension and its role as a leading European platform for technologies, services, and integrated solutions dedicated to decarbonization.”
This edition stood out with a comprehensive program of over 150 conferences and other events addressing topics related to finance as support for energy transition, as well as efficiency for decarbonization, storage, and the application of AI in the energy sector.
Additionally, importance was given to Africa in accordance with the priorities of the Italian government’s Mattei Plan, through the establishment of the Africa Investment HUB, a space dedicated to business meetings and networking, with participation from several sectoral associations from the African continent.
She also mentioned the new event organized by IEG, the Storage & Solar Expo Conference (SSEC), scheduled for September 22-23 at the exhibition park in Vicenza. This event, she explained, is a B2B exhibition entirely dedicated to solar energy and energy storage systems, complementing the KEY Energy exhibition.
Ms. Astolfi concluded that IEG’s goal is to promote the role of the “KEY – Energy Transition Expo” as a platform capable of bringing together the global energy community in an increasingly international and interconnected context, asserting that the strong participation of buyers, delegations, operators, and foreign visitors confirms the promising trajectory of this energy transition exhibition.
