BANK OF AFRICA has taken a new step in its commitment to sustainable development by announcing the launch of the Excellence Award for Sustainability & Impact, with applications open from February 15 to April 15, 2026. This initiative is aligned with the dynamics driven by the Pan-African Chair of Sustainability and Impact Finance, developed in partnership with six leading Moroccan academic institutions.

Through this award, the Bank aims to establish a structured ecosystem around ESG issues and strengthen connections between academic production, methodological innovation, and concrete organizational transformation. The clear ambition is to go beyond traditional financing to encourage approaches capable of generating measurable impact on territories and economic models.

The Excellence Award for Sustainability & Impact is based on two major distinctions. The first, dedicated to innovative research, rewards scientific work that significantly contributes to understanding sustainability challenges, integrating technological or methodological approaches that can influence professional practices. The second honors operational initiatives led by companies, NGOs, or local authorities that have demonstrated a concrete and measurable impact in environmental matters, social inclusion, or responsible governance.

Applications will be reviewed by a multidisciplinary jury composed of experts from academic, economic, and institutional backgrounds. Projects will be evaluated based on scientific quality, degree of innovation, capacity for application and replication, as well as their potential for large-scale transformation. Winners will receive official recognition, financial support, and assistance aimed at facilitating the deployment of their work or initiatives, in collaboration with the partners of the Chair and the Bank.

By launching this award, BANK OF AFRICA confirms its positioning as an engaged player in impact finance and affirms its commitment to contributing actively to a sustainable economic and social transformation, rooted in local communities and focused on future generations.
