The dynamics undertaken by Morocco in the field of energy transition are opening new perspectives for businesses and creating employment opportunities for the youth, said Laila Benali, Minister of Energy Transition and Sustainable Development, on Friday in Casablanca.
“We are fully committed to supporting all projects and initiatives by providing an adequate, agile, and evolving legislative and regulatory framework, enhancing investment support, and accelerating innovation and scientific research programs,” Ms. Benali stated during the closing of the international exhibitions Elec Expo, EneR Event, and Tronica Expo 2025.
She pointed out that Morocco is quadrupling its annual investments in renewable energies and quintupleing its annual investments in electrical networks, emphasizing that this transformation is engaging a wide range of profiles, including business engineers, site managers, and electrical and mechanical maintenance personnel.
According to the official, this sector currently employs about 75,000 direct jobs, and it is expected to reach 100,000 jobs by 2030.
“The success of this edition reflects the constant attention that His Majesty King Mohammed VI gives to the sectors of electricity, renewable energies, energy services, and their digitalization as essential pillars of the Kingdom’s energy and industrial sovereignty,” she noted.
She continued that this edition has witnessed remarkable dynamics confirming the maturity of the sector and the robustness of its ecosystem, highlighting that the participation of over 150 exhibitors and national and international delegations reflects Morocco’s status today as a credible destination for investment and advanced industry.
This edition also stood out for launching structural agreements aimed at enhancing national competitiveness and integrating Moroccan industry into global value chains, in line with the Royal Vision aimed at supporting productive investment, job creation, and generating added value, Ms. Benali added.
Taking place from November 26 to 29 at the International Exhibition Center of Casablanca (OFEC), these three exhibitions bring together exhibitors from 24 countries around the theme “Energy Storage and Smart Equipment: The Key to Tomorrow’s Electrical Networks,” confirming Morocco’s position as a regional platform for innovation and energy cooperation.
