On the occasion of the 30th United Nations Climate Conference (COP30) in Belém, Brazil, Leïla Benali, Morocco’s Minister of Energy Transition and Sustainable Development, met with Steven Collet, the Dutch Deputy Minister for International Cooperation.
The discussions highlighted the strong ties between the two countries, particularly in the fields of renewable energy, green hydrogen, and technological innovation. Morocco presented its updated Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC 3.0), showcasing innovative methods to enhance the credibility, transparency, and effectiveness of its climate policies.
Minister Benali emphasized that the Kingdom places international cooperation at the heart of its energy strategy, “founded on credibility and the creation of shared value.” Both parties also praised the results of the bilateral framework signed in 2023 in renewables and green hydrogen, which has facilitated an exchange of expertise, enhanced skills, and joint participation in international events such as the Power-to-X Summit in Marrakech and the World Hydrogen Summit in Rotterdam.
In a context where energy and climate challenges require collective responses, Morocco and the Netherlands seek to consolidate their complementarities to develop sustainable, innovative, and forward-looking cooperation.
