Under the theme “Sustainable Management of Water Resources: Basis for the Development of Date Palms and Oases,” Morocco places climate resilience at the heart of its oasis strategy.

From October 29 to November 2, 2025, the city of Erfoud will host the 14th edition of the International Date Palm Exhibition in Morocco (SIDATTES), held under the High Patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI. Organized by the International Date Palm Exhibition Association in Morocco, under the aegis of the Ministry of Agriculture, Maritime Fishing, Rural Development, and Water and Forests, and with support from the National Agency for the Development of Oasis Zones and Argan Trees (ANDZOA), the event is set to be a major gathering for the date palm sector and the sustainable development of oasis regions.

This edition will bring together nearly 230 exhibitors from around twenty countries, with more than 90,000 expected visitors, thereby confirming SIDATTES’ role as an essential platform for dialogue, business, and innovation surrounding the date palm, a key economic and ecological pillar of southern Morocco.

The chosen theme, “Sustainable Management of Water Resources: Basis for the Development of Date Palms and Oases,” reflects a heightened awareness of water stress and the impacts of climate change. Moroccan oases, true survival ecosystems in the heart of arid areas, are closely dependent on water availability to maintain their ecological and social balance.

According to the organizers, integrated and economical management of water resources is now considered the cornerstone of oasis development. It not only conditions the preservation of traditional palm groves but also food security and the livelihoods of more than two million inhabitants. The challenge lies in reconciling biodiversity protection, the maintenance of ancestral agricultural skills, and the modernization of irrigation techniques through innovation and scientific research.

The Exhibition will feature a rich and diverse program, including an Investment Forum, thematic workshops, B2B meetings, and a scientific day dedicated to agronomic research and water resource management. A national competition for date products and cultural activities will celebrate the diversity of terroirs and oasis traditions.

This year, particular attention will be given to youth and environmental education, with a dedicated space for children to discover, in a playful way, the world of oases, their natural riches, and the challenges of their preservation.
