Ciments du Maroc, a subsidiary of Heidelberg Materials, celebrated the raising of the “Blue Flag” for the 16th consecutive year on the beach of Safi and unveiled the 2025 edition of the eco-sustainable village Sayfok.

“The municipal beach of Safi officially launched the new ‘Clean Beaches’ campaign, initiated by the Mohammed VI Foundation for the Protection of the Environment, during a ceremony presided over by the governor of the province, in the presence of the presidents of the municipal and provincial councils, local and security authorities, as well as representatives of civil society and Ciments du Maroc, a committed partner of this beach since 2001,” states a communiqué from Ciments du Maroc.

Labelled Blue Flag since 2009, a mark of environmental excellence and sustainable hospitality, the beach of Safi confirms, year after year, its status as a sought-after summer destination, combining beach enjoyment and respect for the environment, emphasizes the same source.

Sayfok 2025: an engaged and immersive edition

This year, the eco-sustainable village Sayfok is part of the dynamics of the national #b7arblaplastic campaign, led by the Mohammed VI Foundation. Designed with young people from Safi involved in the local associative fabric, this program offers a series of fun and educational activities, blending art, culture, and environmental awareness.

The program for this edition includes the Environment & Recycling Workshop, an interactive journey to discover the impact of plastic on the oceans, with a 2025 novelty: the observation of microplastics collected from the beach, providing a tangible awareness of marine pollution.

The Artistic Creation Workshop offers drawing, collage, and upcycling art to transform waste into collective works, raising awareness among young and old about upcycling, while the “History of Safi” Workshop aims to dive into local heritage through augmented reality, combined with pottery initiation, an emblematic craft of the region.

Another 2025 novelty; “The Voices of the Waves,” a workshop-conference providing associations with a space for direct exchange with vacationers, thus enhancing the dialogue on ecological issues.

Finally, the program also includes a Beach Radio, which, at the heart of the animation, broadcasts educational messages and interactive games, while mobilizing vacationers around cleaning operations in a festive atmosphere.

A sustainable commitment to the beaches of Safi

Beyond the municipal beach, Ciments du Maroc continues its action in favor of the Lalla Fatna and Kourram Eddif beaches, where the company deploys essential infrastructures to ensure safety, hygiene, and cleanliness, thus demonstrating its territorial anchoring and commitment to responsible tourism.

An engaged player in favor of the environment and social responsibility, Ciments du Maroc is a major cement operator in Morocco and the leading operator in ready-mixed concrete and aggregates.

The company’s industrial setup consists of 3 cement plants, in Aït Baha (Agadir), Had Hrara (Safi), and M’zoudia (Marrakech), 4 grinding centers (2 in Laâyoune, 1 in Jorf Lasfar, and 1 in Nador), 4 aggregate quarries, and 24 concrete plants located in the main cities of the Kingdom.
