To address the urgent need for financing African agriculture, estimated at 65 billion dollars, the Europe-Africa Chamber of Commerce (EUACC) invites key players in the sector to a major forum on Saturday, May 24, 2025, at the Abidjan Exhibition Palace.

A strategic meeting for the continent’s food future

Business leaders, investors, funders, government representatives, start-ups, and technical experts are expected to discuss and build concrete solutions. The goal is clear: to catalyze the investments necessary for the growth of an African agribusiness capable of ensuring food security.

“Agribusiness is the economic engine of Africa – it just lacks fuel,” says Sonia Toro, Executive Director of the EUACC. Through this forum, the organization aims to fully play its role as a catalyst between the supply of financing and the needs on the ground.

    Key moments to take action

The forum’s program promises to be dense and results-oriented. Several thematic panels will address obstacles to financing, structural challenges in the agricultural ecosystem, as well as innovation levers. A pitch session will allow project holders with bankable initiatives to present their projects to international investors and funders. The B2B dinner planned for the evening will facilitate high-level bilateral exchanges.

Among the notable speakers expected are:

    • Dr. Tchepelayi Kabata (BADEA)
    • Dr. Hermann Messan (IFAD)
    • Mr. Joseph Nyemah (FAO)
    • H.E. Beugré Mambé (under confirmation)

    Launch of a continental initiative

The forum will also be the occasion to officially announce the launch of the EUACC Agri-Financing Program, a multi-year initiative aimed at supporting viable agricultural projects across Africa.

In conclusion, a Call to Action for COP30, scheduled in Brazil, will advocate for innovative financing solutions, particularly risk reduction mechanisms and blended financing schemes.

Multiple supports for a continental ambition

The success of this event also relies on the support of many partners. The EUACC particularly thanks:

    • Sponsors: AFG Group, Cadesa Coop
    • Partners: EMPACT, SPECI, CCI-CI, CGECI, FIPME, Côte d’Ivoire Export Agency, BADEA, ARTCI
    • Institutional supports: Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Ministry of Women, Family and Child

This forum marks a turning point for agricultural financing in Africa, betting on the convergence of wills, ideas, and capital.
