The opening ceremony of this annual event, this year themed “Perfumed Rose Sector: A Lever for Sustainable Development within the framework of the Generation Green strategy,” was chaired by the Minister of Agriculture, Maritime Fisheries, Rural Development, and Water and Forests, Ahmed El Bouari.

The International Perfumed Rose Exhibition in Morocco, taking place from May 5 to 8 in Kelâat M’Gouna, aims to highlight the economic, social, and cultural importance of the perfumed rose sector, as well as its central role in promoting oasis areas and achieving integrated and sustainable regional development.

The exhibition features more than 100 stands, including an institutional space, a space dedicated to the perfumed rose sector and various local products, and another dedicated to agro-supply.

In a statement to the press, Mr. El Bouari emphasized the importance of the International Perfumed Rose Exhibition, which serves as a showcase illustrating the efforts made to promote the perfumed rose sector in the region.

In this regard, he praised the women whose mastery of harvesting and distillation techniques contributes to the preservation and promotion of this culture.

Moreover, the minister and the accompanying delegation visited the various stands of the exhibition, after which awards were presented to the best farms and processing units in the Mgoun and Dadès valleys, in recognition of their efforts to preserve and develop the sector.

The minister also presided over the signing ceremony of five partnership agreements related to the implementation of a solidarity agriculture project aimed at the sustainable intensification of agricultural production systems and the promotion of self-employment in the Alnif district.

This also includes the signing of a partnership contract for the implementation of a solidarity agriculture project based on livestock aimed at contributing to the restoration of livestock in the territorial communes of Ighil N’Oumgoun, Aït Sedrat Jbel El Soufla, Aït Sedrat Jbel El Oulia, and Aït Youl, as well as the signing of two partnership contracts for the implementation of a solidarity agriculture project for the agricultural development of the perfumed rose sector in the M’Goun and Dadès basin.

The official also presided over the signing ceremony of a framework agreement for the financing and implementation of a program for the protection of oases and territorial enhancement of the communes in the province of Tinghir for the period 2025-2027. The program aims to improve the living conditions of the affected populations, contribute to efforts to protect the province’s oases from fires, reduce flood risks in the province’s communes, and contribute to environmental preservation.

The opening ceremony of this socio-economic and cultural event was marked by the presence of the governor of the province of Tinghir, Ismail Haikal, the president of the regional council, Hro Abrou, elected officials, and several civil and military personalities.

This event, which highlights the economic, social, and cultural importance of the perfumed rose sector, as well as its central role in promoting oasis areas and achieving integrated and sustainable regional development, is expected to attract more than 100,000 visitors from Morocco and abroad, including professionals, investors, and visitors from various categories.

The 60th edition of the exhibition is also an opportunity to showcase key achievements in the implementation of the “Generation Green 2020-2030” strategy, particularly regarding the improvement of production chains, support for valorization and innovation, support for youth and women entrepreneurship, and adaptation to climate change in light of the challenges inherent in water stress.

Spanning four days, the program for this edition includes the organization of scientific seminars and round tables focused on themes related to the development of the perfumed rose value chain, innovation, achieving spatial justice, and promoting the social and solidarity economy.
