The Moroccan government has approved the 100% acquisition of the company Énergie Éolienne du Maroc SA by the Emirati company AMEA Power LLC, a leader in the renewable energy sector. This acquisition is part of a strengthened dynamic of economic cooperation between Morocco and Gulf countries, with a particular focus on the strategic energy sector.

Decree No. 2.24.385, published in the Official Bulletin No. 7370 bis, formalizes this transaction by confirming the complete transfer of shares previously held by the Italian company Italgen Maroc S.A.R.L.. Signed by the head of government and the ministers of Equipment, Water, Economy, and Finance, this decree contains no suspensive conditions, allowing for immediate execution of the operation.

AMEA Power: a major player in renewables in Morocco

With this acquisition, AMEA Power, specialized in the development of wind and solar projects, becomes the sole shareholder of Énergie Éolienne du Maroc SA, a Moroccan company with a capital of 6.2 million dirhams dedicated to electricity production from renewable sources. This buyout marks a key step in the development of AMEA Power in Morocco.

An environment conducive to foreign investment

This operation is based on the provisions of Dahir No. 1-58-008 of February 24, 1958, which regulates the entry of foreign capital into strategic sectors such as energy. This stable and attractive legal framework is a major asset for the Kingdom, facilitating the arrival of significant investments as part of its energy transition.
