The Australian company **Sparc Hydrogen**, affiliated with **Sparc Technologies**, has obtained its **first patent in Morocco** for its innovative **photoelectrolysis water reactor (PWS)** technology. This strategic advancement marks a crucial step in protecting its **intellectual property** and developing solutions for **green hydrogen** production, according to a company statement.

**A revolutionary technology for green hydrogen**

The **PWS** technology stands out for its innovative approach, using exclusively **solar light, water, and a photocatalyst**, unlike traditional electrolysis. This process significantly reduces the need for **infrastructure and energy**, thus providing a competitive advantage in terms of **cost and flexibility**.

The granted patent protects several key aspects of the solar reactor, including its **optimized design**, which harnesses the entire **solar spectrum** to improve energy efficiency. By concentrating solar radiation, this technology allows for **accelerating reactions** and reducing the amount of photocatalyst needed, making the process even more efficient.

**Morocco, a strategic choice for Sparc Hydrogen**

Nick O’Loughlin, CEO of Sparc Technologies, praised this major advancement, highlighting that **Morocco is a global leader in the adoption of solar technologies**. He specified that this intellectual protection serves as a **strategic lever** for the company’s development, particularly in the context of building a **pilot plant**.

“This patent is the first of a series of **18 regional filings**, which will ensure a **global protection** of our technology. It strengthens our position as a leader in the emerging field of green hydrogen,” said Mr. O’Loughlin.

**One step closer to the energy transition**

The granting of this patent aligns with Morocco’s ambitions in terms of **energy transition**, with a strong commitment to **renewable energies**, particularly **green hydrogen**, seen as a strategic lever to **decarbonize industry** and **promote a green and sustainable economy**.

This success enhances Morocco’s appeal as a **regional hub for green technologies**, while confirming its central role in developing innovative energy solutions adapted to climate challenges.
