The publication of the tariff related to the electrical network contributes to reducing the energy bill, particularly the solar energy produced and distributed to Moroccan consumers, said the Minister of Energy Transition and Sustainable Development, Leila Benali, on Monday at the House of Representatives.

In response to an oral question from the National Rally of Independents group regarding “the assessment of achievements in the field of solar energy,” Ms. Benali emphasized that the publication of this pricing in full transparency and regularity is part of the enactment of Law No. 19-40, which complements and amends Law No. 09-13 related to renewable energies and Law No. 15-48 related to the regulation of the electricity sector and the creation of the National Electricity Regulatory Authority (ANRE).

She added that the publication of this tariff, which began in January 2024, will also help reduce the gap between the ANRE, the National Office of Electricity, and investors in the field of solar energy, highlighting the measures taken by the ministry to mobilize the necessary investments, particularly in the field of solar energy.

In this context, the minister indicated that “the medium-voltage electrical network has been opened and that the joint decision with the Ministry of the Interior regarding the envelopes for injecting electricity generated from renewable sources into the medium-voltage electrical network has been published,” specifying that “this decision will be published regularly every year or every two years, which represents an important step in this area.”

Among the measures taken, the minister added, are tax incentives adopted such as the exemption from Value Added Tax in accordance with the 2022 finance law for products and materials used in the manufacturing of solar panels purchased by manufacturers of these equipment.
