More than 650 participants from North Africa, Europe, North America, and Latin America are expected at the 27th edition of the green technology fair “Ecomondo,” scheduled from November 5 to 8 at the Rimini exhibition center in Italy.

This new edition of the leading green technology fair “Ecomondo 2024” will welcome participants from over 100 countries and 72 organizations, institutions, and sectoral associations from around the world, according to a statement from the Italian Exhibition Group (IEG).

“The fair confirms its role as a major international hub for the green economy and acts as a true community catalyst through a series of international meetings that do not end with the fair but continue throughout the year,” said IEG CEO Corrado Peraboni.

For his part, Maurizio Ermeti, president of IEG, specified that in addition to North Africa, Europe, North America, and Latin America, this edition “records a notable increase in arrivals from Asia, particularly Central Asia, China, Southeast Asia, Pakistan, and India.”

An increasingly international event, thanks to “effective” cooperation with the Italian Trade Agency (ITA) and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, the statement notes.

The international network of Ecomondo extends well beyond Italy with the organization of related events such as Ecomondo Mexico (March 5-7, 2025), targeting the Latin American market, and Ecomondo China – CDEPE (March 27-29, 2025), focusing on environmental technologies in the Chinese market, explains Alessandra Astolfi, Global Exhibition Director Green & Technology at IEG.

The 2024 edition will also pay particular attention to the African continent, in line with the Mattei plan of the Italian government and the “African Green Growth” event (4th edition), organized by Ecomondo in collaboration with the Italian Ministry of Environment and Energy Security and the Mission Structure for the implementation of the Mattei Plan, the statement adds, noting that “to date, eight African delegations and 104 buyers have confirmed their participation.”

Collaboration with the E4Impact Foundation, which operates in 20 African countries (chaired by Letizia Moratti) and implements MBA training programs, acceleration, incubation, and support for local entrepreneurship, “is also important,” the same source adds, noting that the 4th edition of the “Business Networking Week in Italy” by E4Impact (Milan, November 4-8, 2024) will focus on the circular economy, culminating in a visit to Ecomondo.
