The OCP Group and ENGIE have officially announced their strategic partnership in the presence of His Majesty King Mohammed VI and French President Emmanuel Macron. This agreement, the Joint Development Agreement (JDA), marks a major step in Morocco’s commitment to energy transition with the launch of four industrial projects focused on renewable energy, green hydrogen, and green ammonia.

**Projects at the heart of decarbonization and innovation**

The initiatives of this partnership include:

    1. The production of renewable electricity with storage solutions to enhance the flexibility of the energy network.
    2. The development of infrastructure to connect these new energy sources.
    3. The production of green ammonia, with a feasibility study for other hydrogen derivatives, such as e-methanol.
    4. The creation of desalination capacities for agricultural irrigation in OCP’s areas of operation.

**A partnership for innovation and competitiveness**

This partnership also emphasizes research and innovation, aiming to enhance the competitiveness of the OCP Group and create economic and technological opportunities for Morocco. Mostafa Terrab, CEO of the OCP Group, stated that this collaboration supports the decarbonization and competitiveness of the group on the international renewable energy stage, thus ensuring a sustainable future.

**ENGIE and OCP: a partnership for Morocco’s energy transition**

Catherine MacGregor, CEO of ENGIE, stated that this agreement represents a shared vision for energy transition in Morocco. This partnership will develop low-carbon solutions and strengthen the Moroccan industrial ecosystem, positioning both groups as key players in decarbonization in Morocco.

The JDA also provides for the possibility of creating a joint venture between OCP and ENGIE, strengthening their collaboration to sustainably transform Morocco’s energy sector.
