Born in the USA and adopted in France, September in Gold is being realized at the national level under the impetus of Servier Morocco through the creation of the Morocco Movement September in Gold.

This initiative is dedicated to supporting and accompanying thousands of young Moroccan patients with cancer, their families, and caregivers in their fight against the disease and its heavy consequences (drastic lifestyle changes, treatment costs, logistics…).

The MMSOR is also part of Servier Morocco’s transformation dynamic towards 2030, which aims to contribute to one of the ambitions of the Servier group, that of having a significant positive societal impact, through the implementation of CSR actions/projects and sponsorships.

Servier Morocco aspires to this noble goal, notably through the organization of awareness and mobilization events for the greatest number, amplifying the charitable spirit and developing local collaborations with patient associations, under the endorsement of learned societies.

The MMSOR is also an opportunity to bring together all major players in the medical, scientific, and social fields around Childhood Cancer, in order to ensure better control of it.

**Childhood Cancer – Morocco: Current Situation**

According to the World Health Organization and despite the progress and achievements of scientific and medical research worldwide,

    – Cancer remains today the second leading cause of mortality among those under 15 years old.

    – Every year, 400,000 children worldwide are diagnosed with cancer.

In Morocco, the figures are around 1,200 to 1,400 children diagnosed with cancer each year, of which only 700 are diagnosed in time, highlighting the importance of raising awareness for early diagnosis, a true lever for effective, accessible care that significantly increases the chances of recovery.

**Solidarity Runs: Walking and/or Running for the Cause of Children with Cancer**

The main event of this golden September is a solidarity run/walk, uniting all wills to support sick children and their families.

On September 29, in Bouskoura, more than 500 people are expected, including seasoned athletes and also amateur lovers of walking/running.

Organized under the sign of sharing, kindness, and social involvement, the Solidarity Runs by Servier Morocco aim to be a crossroads where all those concerned about giving a voice to sick children in the fight of their lives come together.

For Servier Morocco, it is about establishing the Morocco Movement September in Gold over time and creating a tradition, an annual appointment, to shed light on the needs and hopes of these little champions, while continuing to raise public awareness about Childhood Cancer.
