The 27th edition of the “ECOMONDO 2024” trade fair, a major event in Europe and the Mediterranean basin for the green and circular economy, will take place from November 5 to 8 at the Rimini exhibition center in Italy.

Initiated by the Italian Exhibition Group (IEG) as part of the objectives of the European Green Deal, this new edition will focus on innovation, technology, and best European practices, which are at the heart of the current and future green transition and economic growth, according to a statement from the organizers.

As a hub for research and innovation, this fair aims to be a space for sharing and co-designing the policies of the European Green Deal, where experts, decision-makers, entrepreneurs, and industry professionals will discuss the challenges and opportunities related to environmental policy and the transition to a circular economy.

Aiming increasingly for internationalization, delegations from 120 countries and 60 international professional associations are expected to attend this event, which will feature an exhibition area of approximately 137,000 square meters, with two new temporary pavilions to meet the growing demand from businesses, according to the organizers, who anticipate the participation of around 900 buyers and industrial and institutional delegations from the Balkan region, Africa, the Middle East, and Latin America.

Several themes will be addressed during this edition, including artificial intelligence, big data, ecological transition, managing the effects of climate change, the new space economy, agriculture 4.0, and urban mining.

“ECOMONDO 2024” will also be marked by conferences and seminars aimed at exploring key technological, regulatory, and commercial innovations in the main sectors of the green economy.

The key thematic macro-areas of the new edition are complemented and enriched by topics addressing waste as a resource, the water cycle and blue economy, circular and regenerative bioeconomy, bioenergy and agroecology, site and soil restoration, as well as environmental monitoring and control.

The fair is organized in collaboration with, among others, the European Commission, the Italian Ministry of Environment and Energy Security, the Italian Agency for Trade and Investment, the Emilia-Romagna region, the municipality of Rimini, the National Association of Italian Municipalities, and the European Environment Agency.
